Aneo Retail, Danfoss and White Summit Capital partner to accelerate Energy-as-a-Service across the Nordics

Aneo Retail, Danfoss and White Summit Capital partner to accelerate Energy-as-a-Service across the Nordics

Aneo Retail, Danfoss and White Summit Capital have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of Energy-as-a-Service solutions for food retailers across the Nordics. Building on the collaboration between Aneo Retail and Danfoss, the partnership combines long-term infrastructure capital, technology, company-building expertise and operational capabilities to support Aneo Retail's next phase of growth. As part of the partnership, White Summit Capital has committed up to €100 million of long-term infrastructure capital to support future growth, alongside the continued commitment of Danfoss and existing shareholders HitecVision and TrønderEnergi.

Food retailers across the Nordics face increasing pressure to modernise refrigeration and energy infrastructure while reducing energy consumption, operating costs and emissions. Meeting these long-term ambitions requires significant capital, technical expertise and operational capabilities.

Aneo Retail's Energy-as-a-Service model enables food retailers to modernise this infrastructure without major upfront investments. Aneo Retail takes responsibility for financing, delivering, operating and continuously optimise the systems throughout the contract period. This allows retailers to focus on their core business while improving energy performance and operational resilience.

The partnership will support continued growth across the Nordics and Aneo Retail’s ambition to build a leading Energy-as-a-Service platform for food retail in Europe.

The partners bring complementary capabilities. Danfoss continues as a strategic technology and commercial partner, contributing expertise in refrigeration, controls, digital services and energy optimisation. White Summit Capital will provide dedicated long-term infrastructure capital to support portfolio growth and the deployment of solutions for Aneo Retail’s customers.

Aneo Retail's existing shareholders remain committed to its development. HitecVision will continue to contribute its experience in company building and scaling growth businesses. TrønderEnergi, a leading Norwegian energy and infrastructure company, is strongly committed to contributing to the Nordic energy transition and will continue to leverage its industrial heritage and energy-market expertise to this effort.

"This partnership strengthens our ability to combine Aneo Retail's operational capabilities with our partners’ complementary strengths. Together, these capabilities support continued growth across Nordic food retail and expansion into new markets.

We believe the market is only at the beginning of a major infrastructure transition. Together, we can help more food retailers modernise their infrastructure through Energy-as-a-Service, financing, delivering and operating these solutions over the long term." - Kjetil Larsen, CEO at Aneo Retail.

The partnership builds on the strengthened collaboration established between Aneo Retail and Danfoss in 2025 to help food retailers improve energy performance and modernise technical infrastructure through service-based commercial models.

"Scaling Energy-as-a-Service requires more than technology alone. It requires commercial models and long-term capital that enable customers to modernise their infrastructure. Through our collaboration with Aneo Retail, we bring refrigeration technology, controls, digital services and energy optimisation expertise together to help food retailers improve performance without major upfront investment." – Anthony Gauchier, Vice President, Strategy, M&A, and Service Business at Danfoss Climate Solutions.

“We are delighted to partner with Aneo Retail and our world-class partners. Refrigeration is mission-critical for food retailers and typically their largest source of energy consumption. We see a clear path to building a leading pan-European infrastructure-as-a-service platform." - Alexander O’Rourke, COO at White Summit Capital.

Completion of the investment remains subject to the remaining closing conditions and is expected in the coming months.
